About the Workshop
The Academia-Industry workshop, jointly organized by PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur (IIITDM Jabalpur), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) (formerly Vehicle Factory Jabalpur) and MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), aims to strengthen the collaborative efforts between industry, academicians, and professional bodies. Collaboration between industry and academia is a key to catalyse innovation and growth in technology. Industry often focuses on addressing solutions that are of near-term commercial value while academia focuses on building new knowledge through research and conveying education to students. Joint efforts lead to innovation and yield accelerated development of new breakthroughs. Industry-academia collaborations often result in new products, technologies, and solutions that address real-world challenges.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together a variety of participants to learn about and identify the opportunities for expanding dynamic and sustainable relationship between the industry and academia through research and innovation in multidisciplinary fields of design, science, engineering and technology. The collaboration will lead the awareness on entrepreneurship and start-ups for students and young professional and promote the research and co-innovation between industry and academia.
About PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur
PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur, an Institute of National Importance, established by the Government of India in 2005, focuses on IT-enabled Design and Manufacturing. Since its inception, PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur has been playing a vital role in producing quality human resources for contribution to India’s mission of inclusive and sustainable growth through education and research. About AVNL
Armoured vehicles nigam limited (AVNL) is one of the DPSUs formed consequent to the decision of Government of India to convert Ordnance Factory Board into 07 fully owned Government Corporate Entities. AVNL comprises of 05 Manufacturing Units and 03 Non-Production units. AVNL has been registered by Ministry of Corporate Affairs on 14th August, 2021, under Company's Act of 2013.
About MPIDC
MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is the single window secretariat for investment promotion and facilitation in the state since 2004. MPIDC has developed an Integrated New Venture Establishment Portal (INVEST), which covers the entire investment lifecycle of an investment proposal.
Objectives
